| 1. What is the difference between connection rate and loading rate? | |
Connection rate is the number that dialup program shows upon modems connection. As a rule this maximum throughput during the current session, but this doesn’t mean that you work exactly at this rate. Usually the real loading rate is lower than the modems connection rate. Loading rate can be defined with special dialup programs that have loading indicators. If you use standard program such as “Remote LAN access” than the loading rate can be calculated in the most primitive way: total number of loaded kilobit divide to working time (in seconds) that as a result will give you average loading rate.
| 2. I have very low connection quality - I have to dial the number for several times for connection, the connection is often interrupted, the connection rate is very low (lower than 16 kbit/sec). | |
The reasons for these problems are often low quality phone lines. At that many providers periodically bump into such problems on some analog lines of the Automated Phone Stations (35, 40, 41, 42, 46 and etc.) being in the black list. Low connection quality in principle can be on any analog and even digital Automated Phone Stations. Connection quality basically depends on the quality of copper cable and, namely, damages on it, the number of which define the noise and interference level on the line. Often connection quality depends on weather conditions: in case of heavy rainfall copper cable becomes wet and that creates particular noise on the line. Besides, physical damage, use of blocking units and mini Automated Phone Stations and etc influence the connection quality. It is also should be remembered that many people practice today use of interstation seven-digit phone numbers through analog Automated Phone Stations (for example 144 in “Vuzgorodok” through 46 Automated Phone Station, etc). It is also should be considered that seven-digit number doesn’t mean full numeralization of data transfer through this line. In fact data quality transfer through these numbers doesn’t correspond to the quality of net digital Automated Phone Stations.
| 3. In my mailbox there is mail that I cannot load - the connection is constantly interrupted. | |
It is possible that in your mailbox there is very large volume of mail (more than 4-5Mb) while loading of which the connection is interrupted because of great load. In this case it is recommended to use “The Bat” mailing program that allows loading messages from the server separately or deleting unnecessary messages right from our server without loading them. If you use analog Automated Phone Station than the chance to load mail of more than 5Mb with help of MS Outlook is considerably reduced. You can also use web based interface
| 4. What is the best modem to use? | |
For connection with our network it is optimal to use external modems such as USRobotics 56 kbps V.90 of 3 Com company, ZyXEL Omni of ZyXEL Communications company. Upon connection through analog (six-digit) Automated Phone Stations we especially recommend internal modems such as US Robotics 33,6 kbps. For connection to our network you also can use internal modems, however it should be considered that work stability and reliability of internal modems is considerably inferior to external ones.
| 5. Modems are connected but when username and password are authorized, they are disconnected | |
a) if before that you entered to the system with your login and password saved in your system and authorization was quite continuous, than prior to calling to Technical Support service we recommend you to reboot your computer and then try again, 40% of problems caused by “Windows” defaults disappear at once;
b) If you always reenter your password, than check you password and login. Remember that lowercase and upper-case letters are different - type them correspondently. Many type their login from capital letter, type it exactly as it is written in your note;
c) In case of zero account the password also will be incorrect. Try to enter your personal cabinet on our site www.sarkor.com and examine the statistics.
Doesn’t help? Than apply to Technical Support Service.
