Radio Ethernet
Sarkor Telecom was the first to establish the technologies of wireless access - Radio Ethernet in 1997 year. Company has already realized several large projects proving the practicality and uniqueness of wireless access technologies, based on three factors.
Mobility factor. Wireless networks allow free use of mobile (portable) terminals at definite radius on the territory where permanent access to central database is necessary (for example, on the territory of large storages, ports, university towns).
Remoteness factor. Often we face the situation when it is necessary to route so called «last mile» from the Internet access point to terminal corporate user. And often it happens that the distance from the provider’s point to corporate client exceeds 3-4 km (extreme distance for usual copper cable). Fiber-optic cabling requires the exceeding investments. Wireless technologies of Radio Ethernet are simply irreplaceable: Distance between removed stations may reach 30, in special cases even 50 km, and the data transfer speed reaches 5-8 Mb/s or more, and the construction of such a channel costs considerably lower than the construction of cable channel
Urgency factor. The corporative clients' network access construction must be fulfilled within the shortest periods of time. Cable networks require much time, besides large financial expenditures, which may be calculated even in months which is absolutely unacceptable for the majority of clients. And wireless access points are organized literally within several days.
Therefore, in the conditions of remoteness and absence of good quality cable networks, the only practical method of high-speed corporative access organization is wireless technologies.
The technology itself is rather simple. Parabolic aerial, directed to one of omnidirectional wireless knots of the Provider, is fixed on the roof of the Subscriber. Subscriber's local network is connected to Provider's network using special high-frequency cables, adapter and special computer with radio card.
